Still, we believe that this is a really cool mod all owners of Final Fantasy VI should at least test. Moreover, there are some sprites flicker on certain parts. Unfortunately, though, this isn’t a perfect graphical overhaul as the sprites are missing a lot of detail and texture due to palette limitations of the original game. Its next patch will include all the battle monster/esper sprites and their UI componets revamped.
The first major version of this mod is available for download and you can get it from here. Titled Final Fantasy VI A World Reborn, this mod comes with reworked sprites and monsters, makes NPCs more colorful and diverse, replaces the UI pictures of the characters, deletes the mobile UI and adds an Orchestral OST. A team of modders has released a graphics overhaul for Final Fantasy VI.
